Critics already blasting steroid investigation
Baseball launched its probe Thursday into steroids use by Barry Bonds and others, and right away the head of the investigation came under attack. Commissioner Bud Selig said former Senate Majority Leader George Mitchell - and a director of the Boston Red Sox - will lead the inquiry. Mitchell said he will not resign his position.
Durham confident he'll be ready for opener
Ray Durham has no doubts his tender left foot will be healthy in time for San Francisco's season opener Monday at San Diego. The Giants second baseman was scratched from this past Monday's Cactus League game against the Royals in Arizona because of plantar fasciitis in his foot, a problem that bothered him for most of spring training.

Henry will announce future before World Cup
Thierry Henry will announce whether he is staying with Arsenal before this year's World Cup. "At the end of the season we are going to have to take a decision," Henry told the club's TV network. "It will be done before the World Cup, that's for sure."
Milan denies it is selling Shevchenko
AC Milan denied it was considering selling Andriy Shevchenko to Chelsea, rejecting reports in the English press. "It's a rumor that doesn't even deserve to be denied," Milan's Web site quoted chairman Adriano Galliani as saying Friday.
