Alexander’s four scores tied a career-high he set in 2002. The Seahawks have won its last two games after loosing their season-opener game against Jacksonville.


Indianapolis vs. Cleveland:

Yesterday, the Indianapolis Colts won their first three games for the second time in three seasons, after Edgerrin James ran for 108 yards with a touchdown to lead them to a 13-6 victory over the Cleveland Browns at RCA Dome. With a strong defense the Colts limited the Browns to just 263 total yards.

Darius has six tackles in two games this season, along with 566 tackles, 14 interceptions and two sacks in 105 career games.

The new complex will be publicly owned and the Vikings are expected to pay $280 million of the costs. The county will fund the same amount through a three-quarter percent countywide sales tax. State-issued general obligation bonds are expected to cover the remaining $115 million.

This $675 million stadium will be located in Blaine, Minnesota. The Vikings are currently playing in the Metrodome in Minneapolis but have been trying to get a new stadium for years.

New York Giants:

An emotional ballgame took place on Monday night when the New York Giants won with Led by a pair of Tiki Barber touchdowns, the Giants step up for a 2-0 for the first time since 2000, when they went 12-4 and won the NFC championship. The two teams were schedule to play in Louisiana Superdome but due to the Hurricane Katrina the New York Giants allowed the Saints to be the ‘home’ team in New York.

The 41-year-old captain spent 13 of his 22 NHL seasons with the Devils; he captained the New Jersey Devils to three Stanley Cup titles in 1995, 2000 and 2003. Once again the United States Men’s National Team proved to be one of the best at Columbus, OH. The team qualified securing its participation in the next summer World Cup Finals in Germany by winning the prestigious tournament on Saturday night with a 2-0 win over arch-rival Mexico at Crew Satdium.

The two goals were scored by Steve Ralston and DaMarcus Beasley, this victory will send the Americans Team to the World Cup for a fifth consecutive time. The win place the Team into the first place in the CONCACAF qualification standings.

Major league Baseball

At RFK Stadium in Washington, DC, the Washington Nationals defeated the Philadelphia Phillies, 6-1, to take two out of three games. In this game Esteban Loaiza pitched eight strong innings, and Schneider and Wilson each hit three-run hommers. Wilson finished with three hits for the Nationals, who won the final two contests of the series.

The Phillies has lost for the fifth time in eight contest; but despite the loss, Philadelphia remained a half-game ahead of Florida and Houston for the NL wild card lead, as both those teams lost Sunday.

Boxing

The WBC super middleweight title was retained by Markys Beyer last Saturday by winning a unanimous 12-round over American Omar Sheika ( a native of Paterson, New Jersey) in Berlin, Germany. The German Beyer won by a score of 116-112 on two judges' cards and 118-110 on another, he has now won four straight fights since losing to Cristian Sanavia on June 5, 2004. His first victory in the current stretch was a rematch win over Sanavia.

Yesterday in Sports!!

Major League Baseball
The Philadelphia Phillies won for a 3-1 win over the New York Mets at Shea Stadium in the finale of a three-game series. With just one-run ball The Phillies got a huge lift from starting pitcher Jon Lieber who tossed seven strong innings. Lieber (13-12) allowed four hits, did not walk a batter and struck out six to end a personal two-game losing streak. Ryan Howard homered in the ninth inning for the Phillies, who have won two straight and currently own a one-half game lead over Houston in the NL wild card.
By the other hand, The Mets suffered their second straight loss and fourth in five games. Even though Jose Reyes had two hit, including his 15th triple of the season, and a scored run, the road for Mets gets a lot tougher, the rookie manager has been through plenty of these playoff races as a player and a coach with the Yankees, his message to his Fans and Club was this: In a pennant race, it is the next game that is important; not the last one.



National Hockey League
The general manager of the Pittsburgh Penguins announced yesterday that Ryan Malone was re-signed. Originally selected by Pittsburgh in the fourth round of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, the 25-year-old Pittsburgh native had a solid rookie season in 2003-04, tallying 22 goals and 43 points in 81 games. Malone ranked fourth among rookies in scoring and earned NHL All-Rookie Team honors. As well, Malone became the first Penguins rookie to record 20 goals in a season since Shawn McEachern registered 28 in the 1992-93 campaign.


Men’s Tennis
Yesterday at Flushing Meadows, NY, the Two-time champion Andre Agassi was among Thursday's second-round winners at the U.S. Open. The seventh-seeded Agassi, appearing in his 20th straight U.S. Open, needed three tiebreaks to get past massive-serving Croat Ivo Karlovic at Ashe Stadium.

In the finale of a brief two-game series at Miller Park, Prince Fielder's lifted the Milwaukee Brewers score to a 6-5 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates with his two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning. Even though, Fielder has a brand new career, the second home run in his life helped the Brewers end a three-game losing streak. As well, J.J. Hardy tied a career high with three hits, including a home run, and scored twice for Milwaukee, which is 35-29 at home this season. Pittsburgh hasn’t being so lucky..!! They has lost six of its last seven games.

Los Angeles vrs. Chicago
At Wrigley Field in Chicago, IL. Jose Cruz Jr. and Derek Lowe lead Los Angeles Dodgers to a 7-0 score with one-hit shutout by Lowe and a three RBI added by Jose Cruz Jr., Lowe (9-13) allowed only a first-inning single to Jerry Hairston Jr. to pick up his first win in his last five starts (1-2). This was the right-hander's second shutout of the year and the second time this season he allowed only one hit in a start. In addition, Saenz and Jayson Werth, each added two RBI for the winners. This is just the fifth time in eleven games that Los Angeles Dodgers has won.

San Diego vrs Arizona
San Diego 9, Arizona 5!!! At PETCO Park in San Diego, CA. The San Diego Padres won over the Arizona Diamondbacks, 9-5. Ben Johnson smacked a three-run homer and with three runs scored and an RBI by Dave Roberts, the San Diego Padres were lead to the victory. Besides, Loretta ended 3-for-4 with two runs scored for the Padres, who moved back to the .500 mark (66-66) and continue to lead the NL West by 5 1/2 games over the Los Angeles Dodgers. Johnson finished 2-for-4 as San Diego won the final two games of this three-game set to capture the series. The Diamondbacks have dropped eight of 11 games and fell 6 1/2 games behind the Padres.
